Dear B,
You were my first and only best friend from school. Your
older sister and I played for same team and we were good friends too. And because
of close connection to your family we were like sisters. I’ve spent lot of time
at your place. I cherish it.
You were way smarter than me academically and in many more
things. On the other hand, I was very mischievous, I still am. “I was bad influence
for you”, this was everyone’s opinion though you never cared. You knew me. And I always looked up to you as
an inspiration. You were the best personality I could be friends with. I
respected you a lot.
There was a time when I was shifted to another batch. I was
under bad influence and you saw it, you fought for me, for my betterment. You
talked to our teacher, changed my batch and took me with yours. I never
actually thanked you for that.
But even though my batch was changed that bad influence was
not leaving me. That was the time I needed you most, see, I wasn’t mature
enough at that time. So yes, I needed someone to show me the path. I wanted
that someone to be you. But you left me.
We were busy preparing for our boards and I thought you must
be busy with studies. Exams were over, then we parted ways, you chose another
stream and I took another. I didn’t even know that you had given up on me. I got
to know it from someone else.
Why did you leave me when I needed you the most?
Love,
P.
It's a note you left me when we fought for the first time.
(Irony is, you and the bad influence shared same name.)
